About Your Teacher
If you want to learn English, it is important that you have the right tools for the job.
You want a trained teacher who understands what it is like to learn a language and the potential problems that students may encounter.
My name is Mary Maddison. I have been involved with teaching since 1994 and my qualifications include:
CELTA – Certificate for English Language Teaching to Adults Dip TEFL – Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language Dip HE – Diploma in Higher Education 'A' Level Business Studies 'A' Level General Studies
In addition, I have GCSE French and have studied German and Italian at a basic level. My experience includes teaching students from 8 – 16, teaching adults, General English, English for travel, Business English, Job specific English including for Personal Assistants and Nurses, Short and Long Courses for students from Beginner through to Advanced. I have worked for Mercator Language School, Riviera English School and Torbay Language Centre, been a host family and teacher and taught intensive one to one sessions in host family homes. I have built up a large bank of resources, knowledge and experience over the years and endeavour to tailor my teaching to each individual student. My Own English Teacher is based in Cornwall, in the South West of England.
