If, for any reason, the teacher is unable to teach a particular session, they will attempt to give at least 24 hours notice. The session can then be re-scheduled for another suitable time and/or date at no further cost to the student.

If a student pays for a number of sessions in one transaction that totals over £30 (GBP), they are entitled to a 7 day cooling off period. If they decide to cancel that transaction, they will receive a complete refund.
Sessions will only take place once payment has cleared.

If a student is late for the start of their session, the session end time will remain the same and no credit will be given for time lost.

If a student fails to attend a lesson, without giving 24 hours notice, no refund will be given for that session. If a teacher fails to attend a session without giving at least 12 hours notice, the student is entitled to a free 20 minute session in addition to the session they had previously booked.

If a student is unable to attend a lesson, providing at least 24 hours notice is given, the lesson can be re-scheduled at no extra cost to the student.

It is the student’s responsibility to check the time differences between their country and the UK to ensure they are able to attend a session.

On completion of a set of sessions, the student will be offered the opportunity to re-book a further set of lessons, although this is not compulsory.

If a student books a set of lessons in one subject and then chooses to change that subject, for example 10 x General English changing to 10 x Grammar focus, the difference in price between the two packages needs to be paid before sessions in the new subject will start. If a student chooses a set of lessons that are less expensive than those originally booked, no refund will be given, but the student will not incur any charges.

My Own English Teacher endeavours to provide sessions at times the student wishes, but this is totally dependent on session availability. Students are able to book regular time slots, for example 8pm every Friday, to ensure they receive the lesson at their chosen time.

Lessons may be available outside of normal session times, but this is not guaranteed. An special arrangement that suits both the teacher and the student will then take place.
